The daily gold rate in Pakistan is announced by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) from Karachi's wholesale bullion market. Their opening quote is derived from the international spot gold benchmark (XAU/USD, priced per troy ounce on the London and New York markets), converted to Pakistani rupees at the interbank USD/PKR exchange rate and then adjusted for the local sarafa premium.
When the dollar strengthens or global spot moves, Pakistani gold moves with it — usually within minutes.
